What's up with the obsession of getting tan? Honestly? The white man doesn't like the black or yellow man, yet he wants to get darker from exposing himself to the sun, and thus skin cancer. Many white people would say they wouldn't trade their skin color - which is understandable, I mean aside from the whole "priviledge" thing - if you want to call it that - you're damn used to your skin, yes? Except they want to get tan. This boggles me. Maybe it has something to do with me having "olive"-colored skin, but I'm damn fine with being pale for an asian. It makes me proud with my brother (white) out-darkens me during the summer. And I see no reason to expose myself to skin cancer and temporary blindness by forcing myself under that large burning ball of gas in the sky.
